Media downloads and local data

ReelPocket Video Downloader processes supported public social media links on your Android device. It sends requests directly to the linked services and their media hosts to fetch public photos and videos. Those services receive the network requests and device IP address under their own policies. ReelPocket Video Downloader does not operate a download server or require a social media or ReelPocket Video Downloader account.

The app stores saved-media titles, source links, local thumbnails, file locations, download status, quality preferences, and download history on the device. We do not send saved-media history or source links to Google as ad targeting information. The clipboard is read only when you tap Paste. Sharing a supported link directly to ReelPocket Video Downloader starts a download; additional links wait until the current transfer finishes.

You can delete a photo or video from Library, remove files using Android's Files app, or clear ReelPocket Video Downloader's app data. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes private app history and preferences, but downloaded files in shared Downloads storage can remain until you delete them. The app does not request access to contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, or your entire photo library. Notifications display download progress.

Advertising and consent

ReelPocket Video Downloader uses Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform. The Google Mobile Ads SDK processes IP addresses, device/account identifiers (including advertising and app set IDs where available), interaction information, and performance diagnostics for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. IP addresses can indicate approximate location. Google encrypts SDK data in transit. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps.

Where applicable, Google's consent message lets you choose your advertising preferences. You can revisit available choices through Settings → Ad privacy choices. Android also provides advertising-ID controls. If consent information cannot be obtained and Google does not allow ad requests, ReelPocket Video Downloader continues without requesting ads. Optional rewarded ads provide a 30-minute ad-free period only after the reward is earned; downloading does not require watching an ad. Ad-free reward expiry is stored locally.

Other connections and sharing

Manual engine updates connect to GitHub. App-update checks use Google Play's in-app update SDK. Google Play handles update eligibility, download, and installation under Google's policies; ReelPocket Video Downloader stores the postponed update version and expiry locally. App updates do not send your saved-media history or post links to Google Play. Sharing a saved photo or video grants the selected receiving app temporary access to that file. Sharing ReelPocket Video Downloader sends only the app description and Google Play links through the app you select. Receiving apps handle shared content under their own privacy policies.

ReelPocket Video Downloader is intended for general use and is not designed specifically for children. Save only public content you own or have permission to download. This policy will be updated when the app's data handling changes.
